Tom Brady Shares Story of Michael Jordan Sending Him 120 Pairs of Shoes in Video
Sometimes GOATs have to look out for each other.
During a video with Complex (10:45 mark), legendary quarterback Tom Brady revealed Michael Jordan once sent him 120 pairs of shoes.
"When I didn't have a shoe contract, I called up my friend, Kenny Weyand [the president of Jordan's golf club in Florida]," Brady said. "I'm like, 'Kenny, dude, I need a hook-up.' How can I add some Jordans to my collection? And he goes, 'well, what size are you?' And I said, 'size 13.'
"So, he calls me like two hours later and goes, 'hey, I'm on the course with MJ. And he's size 13, too. He's going to send you a few pairs.' Within two days, I had 120 pairs of shoes show up. I didn't have enough closet space. So I sent MJ something nice. It's pretty cool to have Jordans from Jordan sitting in my closet."
Brady also said Jordan "still is someone I will always call for advice and who I look up to and admire."
Few people are positioned to understand Brady's journey and position in life better than Jordan.
After all, the NBA icon won six championships, six NBA Finals MVPs, 10 scoring titles and five league MVPs during his illustrious career. He is still considered the greatest basketball player in the sport's history by many, and his Jordan shoe brand remains extremely popular well after he retired for the final time 22 years ago.
As for Brady, he won seven Super Bowls, five Super Bowl MVPs and three league MVPs and is also widely considered to be the best-ever in his sport.
While he doesn't have the ever-present shoe and apparel presence of Jordan, he has remained in the spotlight after his playing days as a broadcaster for Fox and part-owner of the Las Vegas Raiders.
And he also has no shortage of Jordan shoes to wear whenever he goes out in public.
