Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Carr announced his retirement during the team’s minicamp after medical scans revealed a labral tear and significant degenerative changes in his rotator cuff, ultimately prompting his decision to step away from the game.
In the draft, the New Orleans Saints selected Louisville quarterback Tyler Shough early in the second round. He joins a young and unproven quarterback room that includes second-year signal-caller Spencer Rattler and third-year pro Jake Haener.
Carr’s retirement raised questions about the Saints’ draft strategy, with some speculating that the team might have pursued a different direction—possibly even targeting late-round standout Sanders—had his decision to retire been a sure-thing prior to the draft.
Sanders was ultimately selected in the fifth round by the Cleveland Browns.
Despite where Sanders could have ended up, Carr clearly sees his potential, as evidenced by his Instagram comment.
