Shilo Sanders Jokes His Goal is to Get In Bucs' Safety Group Chat, Bring Snacks

Taylyn Hadley May 10, 2025

Tampa Bay Buccaneers rookie Shilo Sanders is officially embracing his role as the team's snack provider.

"I'm already preparing for Sunday to get in the safety group chat for all the snacks; I'm going to be the snack guy," he told reporters. "We're just going to get a whole-sale, I'm going to have everything everybody needs."

Shilo played two years at South Carolina before transferring to Colorado in 2023 alongside his father, Deion Sanders, and brother, Shedeur Sanders, where he took on the safety position.

As an incoming undrafted rookie with the Bucs, Shilo knows his role and is determined to keep his vets happy. He’s even planning to bring a spreadsheet to track everyone’s favorite snacks, ensuring he’s always prepared to satisfy the team’s cravings.

"I'm just a rookie... I got to make sure the vets are good because they (have) really been helping me and teaching me a lot of stuff," he continued. "I'm really grateful for that, so it's the least I can do."

Shilo has been showing his appreciation and raw excitement since arriving at the Bucs’ minicamp. After his first training session, he headed to the media room, excitedly saying, "My new media team here," before going around shaking everyone’s hands—“The only player who has done that this week,” according to ESPN’s Jenna Laine.

The 25-year-old will join a talented, young safety room that includes fellow strong safety rookies Rashad Wisdom and J.J. Roberts, along with free safeties Antoine Winfield Jr., Christian Izien, Kaevon Merriweather and Marcus Banks.
