The Fever held a 42-40 lead at the half and led comfortably throughout the fourth quarter. Atlanta put up a fight in the final minutes to pull within six but it was overall a comfortable win for Indiana.
The Fever were led by Lexie Hull's 14 points off of the bench. Kelsey Mitchell contributed 12 points but, as usual, the key contributor for the team was star guard Caitlin Clark.
Clark scored 13 points and had seven assists and six rebounds. She shot 5-of-11 overall and 3-of-8 from three-point range. She notably picked up most of her stats in the first half and spent most of the second half resting for the regular season.
Her contributions led fans to praise her performance and express excitement about Indiana's potential in 2025.
The Fever went 20-20 in 2024 and reached the postseason for the first time since 2016. Clark averaged 19.2 points, 8.4 assists and 5.7 rebounds in 40 games and won the WNBA Rookie of the Year award.
She and the Fever will hope they can take another step forward and be a contender within the Eastern Conference.
Indiana opens the season May 17 at home against the Chicago Sky.
