Former Cowboys LB Jaylon Smith to Try Out for Raiders at Minicamp, Last Played in 2023
Former Dallas Cowboys linebacker Jaylon Smith is set to try out for the Las Vegas Raiders' minicamp this weekend, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Smith last played in the NFL in 2023 for the Raiders, appearing in just one game and registering two tackles.
A second-round pick out of Notre Dame in 2016, Smith was drafted by the Cowboys and earned a Pro Bowl nod in 2019 after a standout season with 142 total tackles, six tackles for loss, one forced fumble and one interception.

He spent four seasons in Dallas before being released and bouncing between three teams in 2021, including the New York Giants, where he last played prior to joining the Raiders. That season, he totaled 88 tackles, three tackles for loss and one forced fumble.
After his final season in 2022 with the Giants, Smith was signed and released by the Saints within a month. He then joined the Raiders in November, appeared in one game, and was waived a few weeks later. His most recent move came in December 2023, when he signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers' practice squad.
Smith will turn 30 ahead of the upcoming NFL season, entering with 88 career games and 378 solo tackles to his name.
