Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Sanders was rated as the No. 23 overall player and the No. 2 quarterback in the class by Bleacher Report's NFL Scouting Department. His slide out of Days 1 and 2 was the story of the draft, as he fell to the fifth round and was the sixth quarterback taken at No. 144 overall.
Sanders' fall came despite an impressive senior season at Colorado, where he threw for 4,134 yards with 37 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. He won the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year award and helped lead the Buffaloes to a 9-4 record.
He joins a Browns team that went 3-14 in 2024 and also has a crowded quarterback room. Sanders and Gabriel join Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett and Deshaun Watson on the Browns, although Watson's Achilles injury has put his 2025 season in serious jeopardy.
While it will be an uphill battle, Sanders will look for an opportunity to seize the starting job and prove he was one of the steals of the draft.
