Kenneth Grant, Dolphins Reportedly Agree to Rookie Contract After 2025 NFL Draft
Kenneth Grant will become the seventh first-round pick from the 2025 NFL draft to sign his rookie contract.
Per ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, Grant has agreed to terms on his rookie deal with the Miami Dolphins and intends to sign on Friday.
Friday also marks the start of Miami's three-day rookie minicamp.
As the No. 13 pick in the draft, the value of Grant's contract is $21.9 million over four years with a $12.6 million signing bonus.
Six of the seven players who have agreed to their rookie contracts were among the top 13 picks. Las Vegas Raiders running back Ashton Jeanty is the highest-drafted player who has signed thus far (No. 6 overall).
The only first-round pick outside of the top 13 who has signed his rookie deal is Josh Simmons with the Kansas City Chiefs (No. 32).
Grant's selection by the Dolphins addressed a huge area of need on the interior of their defensive line. They have lost Christian Wilkins and Calais Campbell as free agents within the last two years.
B/R NFL scout Matt Holder noted in his scouting report for Grant that the Michigan standout profiles as a "gap-filler against the run" with the ability to be an "effective bull rusher when he keeps his pads down and has a solid arm-over move that he can win with."
For a Dolphins team that ranked in the bottom half of the NFL in ESPN's pass-rush and run-stop win rates last season, Grant is going to be a huge piece for them in the middle of their defensive front.
Miami will get its first opportunity to see what Grant can do starting Friday at rookie minicamp.
