The Washington Capitals leveled their second-round series with the Carolina Hurricanes on Thursday night.
The Caps' defense held the Hurricanes to a single goal in Game 2 to send the series back to Raleigh on level terms.
The Vegas Golden Knights failed to earn the same achievement as Washington, as they went down two games to the Edmonton Oilers.
Edmonton used a Leon Draisaitl goal in overtime to take a 2-0 advantage.

The Capitals got on the board in their series with the Hurricanes by way of a home win in Game 2.
Connor McMichael opened the scoring in the second period, a goal that turned out to be the only tally of the first 40 minutes.
Washington extended its advantage at the start of the third period through a power play goal by defenseman John Carlson.
Carolina took eight minutes to respond through a power play goal of its own by way of Shayne Gostibehere.
However, that was the only goal the Canes could get past Logan Thompson. The Washington goalie made 27 saves, nine more than Frederik Andersen in the Carolina net.
Washington finished off the victory with an empty net goal from Tom Wilson, who had the only multi-point performance of the game.
The series now shifts to Raleigh. Game 3 takes place on Saturday night.
Edmonton 5, Vegas 4 (OT)

The Oilers produced yet another come-from-behind victory on Thursday.
Leon Draisaitl netted the game-winning goal in overtime off an assist from Connor McDavid to give the Oilers a 2-0 series lead over Vegas.
Edmonton outscored Vegas 4-1 after Victor Olofsson opened the scoring for the Golden Knights.
Jake Walman and Vasily Podkolzin each scored their first-ever playoff goals in the second period. Darnell Nurse and Evander Kane followed with Edmonton's other two regulation tallies.
Vegas rallied in the third period after Kane's goal. The Golden Knights cut the lead to two on Olofsson's second goal of the game.
Alex Pietrangelo tied the contest just past the midway point of the third period.
Vegas could not manage another goal to complete its comeback and level the series.
Edmonton now has all the momentum in the series heading back home for Game 3.
