Titans GM Details How Cam Ward Compares to Patrick Mahomes, Cites Arm Talent, Instinct
Tennessee Titans general manager Mike Borgonzi had high praise for quarterback Cam Ward when comparing him to another quarterback.
Borgonzi, who was with the Kansas City Chiefs from 2009 to 2024, drew some similarities between Ward and star quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who Borgonzi drafted in 2017.
"Some of the characteristics I saw when we scouted Patrick, I kind of mentioned some other interviews," Borgonzi said on The Rich Eisen Show. "The arm talent obviously stands out with Cam, some of the natural instincts and poise in the pocket that he has and his ability to create outside of the pocket. And then when you really got the chance to meet Cam, we were really impressed with just the person."

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
If Ward comes even close to being the level of player that Mahomes is, he will have a great career.
Ward, who was the No. 9 overall player on the final big board from Bleacher Report's NFL Scouting Department, had a prolific college career with Incarnate Word, Washington State and Miami. With the Hurricanes last season, he threw for 4,313 yards and 39 touchdowns.
Watching Ward in the pocket, it's clear why he reminds Borgonzi of Mahomes. Now the rookie will look to lead the Titans to as much success as Mahomes has led the Chiefs to.
