Giants' Jaxson Dart Says Abdul Carter is 'Best' CFB Player He Played Against in Video
New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart had high praise for new teammate Abdul Carter as both first-round picks prepare for their rookie seasons in the NFL.
"Obviously we played against each other and in all my meetings I was like, 'This is the best guy I've played against.' So, we turning up," Dart told Carter in a video posted by the team.
The Giants were active on Day 1 of the 2025 NFL draft, choosing Carter with the No. 3 overall pick. Then, they traded up from No. 34 to select Dart with the No. 25 choice before the first round came to a close.

The former Ole Miss passer's compliment of Carter is especially impressive, considering he faced a variety of imposing SEC defensive fronts throughout his final three years playing in the conference.
Dart completed 69.3 percent of his throws for 4,279 yards and 29 touchdowns compared to a mere six interceptions in 2024.
His lone matchup with Carter and Penn State occurred in the Peach Bowl during the 2023 season, which resulted in a 38-25 victory for the Rebels.
Dart finished 25-of-40 for 379 yards and three touchdowns without getting picked off, while Carter racked up three tackles and one pass defensed in the defeat.
While he couldn't find a way to bring down Dart in the Peach Bowl, he still got to opposing quarterbacks often in 2024. Carter racked up 12 sacks, 24 tackles for loss, four passes defensed and two forced fumbles as a junior.
As both players look to establish themselves as key building blocks for the Giants' long-term future, there's also a lot of mutual respect between the two.
