Jalon Walker Will Wear No. 11 Falcons Jersey, Worn by Julio Jones for 10 NFL Seasons

Andrew PetersMay 7, 2025

Atlanta Falcons rookie Jalon Walker will wear a legendary wide receiver's former number.

The Falcons announced on Wednesday that Walker will wear No. 11, which formerly belonged to Julio Jones, who spent 10 seasons with the franchise.

Walker also wore No. 11 while playing for Georgia, where he racked up 37 tackles, 11 tackles for loss and 6.5 sacks in his final season.

Though Walker, a linebacker, is at a different position than Jones, he still has high expectations to live up to. Jones, who retired in 2023, ended his career with 13,703 receiving yards and 66 touchdowns. He had seven seasons with 1,000 or more receiving yards.

Walker, who was drafted 15th overall, was the No. 11 overall prospect on Bleacher Report's NFL Scouting Department's final big board. The Falcons, who had the second-fewest sacks last season, are hoping to get an elite pass rushing duo out of Walker and fellow rookie James Pearce Jr., who was drafted 26th overall out of Tennessee.

Of note, quarterback Logan Woodside also wore the number for Atlanta in 2023. Quarterback Emory Jones wore the number in 2024, though he will switch to No. 15 to allow Walker to have No. 11.
