Adam WellsMay 7, 2025

Golf fans looking to attend the 2025 Ryder Cup in person will have their chance thanks to a new program created by the PGA of America.

The PGA of America announced on Wednesday it will be launching "The People's Perk" to distribute a total of 3,000 tickets to local New York residents with a passion for golf.

Fans will receive the complimentary tickets in what is described as a "series of surprise moments" at Bethpage Black and various public golf courses on Long Island and the New York City metro area.

The public courses will be chosen in consultation between the PGA of America and the Metropolitan PGA Section, followed by the PGA of America conducting "randomly selected visits to distribute tickets to lucky recipients."

Tickets will be split into six different blocks of 500 to account for the six days of Ryder Cup activities from Sept. 23-28. Winners receive a voucher with two tickets for a day of their choice, but they are not guaranteed admission for their preferred day.

To ensure a fair giveaway, there will be no advanced notice at any course. PGA of America leaders and "special Ryder Cup guests" will show up to surprise the winners.

Rex Hoggard of NBC Sports noted Sunday-through-Thursday tickets for the Ryder Cup have already sold out, with PGA of America director Bryan Karns saying there is a "very limited amount" remaining for Tuesday and Wednesday.

Bethpage Black is hosting the Ryder Cup for the first time. The course previously served as the site for the U.S. Open in 2002 and 2009, as well as the 2019 PGA Championship.

The 2025 Ryder Cup will take place from Sept. 25-28. Europe is the reigning champion, defeating the United States 16.5-11.5 in 2023. The European team is 5-2 in the last seven Ryder Cup tournaments dating back to 2010.
