Panthers vs. Maple Leafs Betting Odds, Player Props and Picks for May 7

Joe TanseyMay 7, 2025

The change in goal for the Toronto Maple Leafs could change the direction of their second-round series with the Florida Panthers.

Joseph Woll is starting Game 2 for the injured Anthony Stolarz. Woll conceded three goals when he took over in Game 1.

Florida needs to pressure Woll to attempt to get back into the series, and the trend from this postseason suggests goals will be in the cards for not just the Panthers, but the Maple Leafs as well.

Carter Verhaeghe Over 2.5 Shots On Goal (-135)

Carter Verhaeghe has a 75 percent hit rate on the over for his shots on goal on the road this postseason.

Verhaeghe just had his most productive game in front of net in Game 1, as he put five shots on net and had two additional misses.

He was more active in front of net than his linemate Sam Reinhart, who had two shots on and off target in Game 1. Verhaeghe and Reinhart are typically two of the best targets for shots on goal props from the Florida lineup.

The activity in the offensive zone is a continuation from a trend last season, when Verhaeghe averaged 3.29 shots per game during Florida’s run to the Stanley Cup.

Chris Tanev Over 2.5 Blocked Shots (-135)

Chris Tanev loves to get in front of pucks.

The Toronto defenseman blocked five shots in Game 1 and he ranks eighth in blocks this postseason. Tanev has the fifth-most blocks among players still alive in the playoffs.

The Maple Leafs blocked 24 shots as a team in the series opener. Florida put another 29 shots on the Leafs net.

Florida’s shot volume is expected to stay at that rate in Game 2 as it tries to level the series, so it only makes sense to bet on Toronto’s top shot blocker.

Over 5.5 (-118)

Five of Florida’s six postseason games have had at least six goals.

The Panthers should drive the attacking pace in Game 2, and Joseph Woll is more susceptible to concessions than Anthony Stolarz.

Woll let in three goals after he replaced Stolarz in Game 1.

Three of Toronto’s seven postseason games went under 5.5, but three of the last four had at least six goals.
