The WNBA season hasn't even started yet, but Caitlin Clark is still drawing plenty of viewers.
Per the Associated Press (via ESPN), the Indiana Fever's preseason matchup against the Brazilian national team, which was played at Clark's alma mater Iowa, averaged 1.3 million viewers.
That number is 13 percent higher than the regular season average for WNBA games aired on ESPN in 2024. The broadcast saw a peak viewership of 1.6 million.

Not only did the Fever's preseason matchup draw plenty of viewership, but it also drew a big audience. Carver-Hawkeye Arena saw a sellout crowd of 15,000 and the average ticket price on the resale market was $440.
While plenty of fans were interested in the matchup, it wasn't exactly the most exciting contest. Indiana beat Brazil 108-44 as Clark posted 16 points, six rebounds and five assists in 19 minutes. Kelsey Mitchell posted 17 and Aliyah Boston and Natasha Howard were both in double figures as well.
The win marked the second of three preseason games for the Fever. They beat the Washington Mystics in overtime last week and will face the Atlanta Dream on Saturday.
Indiana begins its season on Saturday, May 17, in what should be an exciting matchup against Angel Reese, Haley Van Lith and the Chicago Sky.
Expectations are sky high for Clark after an outstanding campaign that saw her win Rookie of the Year. She averaged 19.2 points, 8.4 assists and 5.7 rebounds as a rookie and is looking to put together another big year in 2025.
