Connor Hellebuyck has been voted the top goaltender in the NHL for a second straight season.

The Winnipeg Jets netminder was named the 2024-25 Vezina Trophy winner during the 2025 NHL Awards on Thursday.

The Vezina Trophy is awarded annually to "the goalkeeper adjudged to be the best at this position" as voted on by NHL general managers.

Hellebuyck, a five-time Vezina finalist, also claimed the award after the 2019-20 and 2023-24 seasons. He is one of 23 goaltenders in NHL history to have received the honor multiple times.

He defended his title as both Vezina and William M. Jennings Trophy winner after posting a 47-12-3 record while marking a .925 save percentage, 2.00 goals against average and an NHL-leading eight shutouts.

He helped the Jets win 13 of their first 14 games in one of the best season starts in NHL history while becoming one of 49 goaltenders to record 40 career shutouts.

His efforts helped the Jets set franchise records with 56 wins and 116 standings points while claiming the Presidents' Trophy for the first time in franchise history.

Only the New Jersey Devils' Martin Brodeur and Washington Capitals' Braden Holtby have ever posted more wins than Hellebuyck's 47 in a single season.

That total meant the Jets netminder recorded more wins than 21 other NHL teams did over the totality of their 2024-25 seasons.

Last season, 31 general managers voted for Hellebuyck as the Vezina winner, with the lone remaining ballot going to the Florida Panthers' Sergei Bobrovsky.

Hellebuyck's efforts to take the Jets to top of the regular-season standings in 2025 were enough to continue impressing those GMs.

The Jets star beat out the Los Angeles Kings' Darcy Kuemper and Tampa Bay Lightning's Andrei Vasilevskiy for the award. He was also named the winner of the Hart Trophy as the player judged to be most valuable to his team.
