Deion Sanders Posts Cryptic Message About Haters Amid Shedeur, NFL Draft Rumors

Julia StumbaughMay 6, 2025

Colorado head coach Deion Sanders seemingly has a message for fans who watched his sons Shedeur and Shilo Sanders throughout the 2025 NFL draft process.

"The crazy thing about people who don't like you, they watch everything you do," Sanders posted Tuesday on social media.

The Sanders family was featured on a livestream throughout the 2025 draft as Shedeur, initially projected as a potential first-round pick, fell to the Cleveland Browns in Round 5. Shilo then signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent.

The Browns sent the No. 166 and No. 192 picks to the Seattle Seahawks in order to jump to No. 144 and draft Shedeur.

According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the Philadelphia Eagles had interest in Shedeur at No. 145 before the Browns moved up.

At the time, five quarterbacks had already been taken off the board— including one by the Browns, who had already selected former Oregon signal caller Dillon Gabriel in the third round.

Sanders' drop down the board was followed by a flurry of reports regarding what had allegedly gone wrong in his pre-draft interviews with other teams.

Both the Ringer's Todd McShay and Sports Illustrated's Albert Breer reported that Sanders' meeting with the Giants went badly when the team pointed out the quarterback had made a mistake in a pre-draft interview.

Breer also said on 98.5 The Sports Hub's Zolak & Bertrand that Sanders had decided he might not be a fit with a team that asked him to walk through an interception he threw with Colorado.

According to NBC Sports' Mike Florio, an anonymous NFL general manager additionally said Sanders had treated pre-draft talks like he was being "recruited," not "interviewed."

These reports may be frustrating to Sanders' family, but may not stop the quarterback from getting a shot at starting in Cleveland.

Browns general manager Andrew Berry said in his post-draft press conference that Sanders is a player "we think can out-produce his draft slot."

With Deshaun Watson injured, Sanders could now be competing with Gabriel, Joe Flacco and Kenny Pickett for first-team reps this summer in Cleveland.
