The new deal for London isn't much of a surprise. In March, Falcons general manager Ian Cunningham said extension talks were "on top of the mind."
London, the eighth overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, has progressed every year of his career so far. He had a strong rookie season with 866 receiving yards and four touchdowns before collecting 905 yards and two touchdowns in his second season.
In 2024, London had the best season of his career and established himself among the league's best in terms of wide receivers. He had the fourth-most receiving yards in the NFL with 1,271, also picking up nine touchdowns on 100 receptions. He recorded career highs in receptions, yards and touchdowns.
After the breakout year for London in 2024, the Falcons wisely decided to pick up his $16.8 million contract option, keeping him in Atlanta through the 2026 season at an extreme value considering his production.
Unfortunately, the 2025 campaign saw London miss five games, but he still recorded 919 yards and seven touchdowns.
Following London's career year in 2024, it was clear he was on his way to being a star, and the Falcons' picking up his contract option only meant his payday would come a bit later. Now, London has a lucrative deal, and he'll look to continue his rise to stardom in Atlanta.
