Jaguars 2025 NFL Schedule Released for Travis Hunter, Liam Coen's 1st Year with Trevor

The starting quarterback is the same, but quite a bit has changed within the Jacksonville Jaguars this offseason.

Jacksonville hired Liam Coen as head coach in the hope that the man who helped Baker Mayfield have a career year can get Trevor Lawrence's development back on track.

James Gladstone also arrived as general manager and wasted no time trying to leave his imprint on the roster. The Jaguars handed out the eighth-most guaranteed money ($86 million), and they traded up to the No. 2 overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft to get Colorado two-way star Travis Hunter.

Maybe the organizational dysfunction that has plagued Jacksonville is finally a thing of the past.

Analysis

Removing the AFC South matchups from the equation, this could be a tricky slate for the Jags to navigate.

The Kansas City Chiefs are the three-time reigning AFC champions, and they're a nightmare opponent whether you're playing them home or away.

The Los Angeles Rams and Los Angeles Chargers are firmly in the middle of the pack, and each is coming off a postseason appearance in 2024. Road trips to play the Cincinnati Bengals, San Francisco 49ers and Denver Broncos figure to be equally difficult even though none of the three qualifies for the elite tier.

Even the Las Vegas Raiders could be more formidable with a new head coach (Pete Carroll) and starting quarterback (Geno Smith) to go along with rookie running back Ashton Jeanty.

Going off last year's winning percentages, Jacksonville has a somewhat easy schedule. That number is deceiving, though, because the Bengals (9-8), Raiders (4-13), 49ers (6-11) and Tennessee Titans (3-14) may all finish at least a few wins better in 2025.

Pivotal Matchups

Go ahead and circle all eight of Jacksonville's road games.

The Jaguars tied the Cleveland Browns for the worst record away from home at 1-8. The outlier was a 10-6 victory over the Titans.

The team wasn't substantially better at EverBank Stadium (and in its two International Series games), but notching only one road win across an entire season is pretty much fatal for any team's hopes of reaching the postseason. Still, fans are thrilled about the upcoming home games, as StubHub noted interest increased more than 8.3x in the 24 hours after Hunter was drafted.

In terms of head-to-head matchups, sweeping their season series with Tennessee would give Jacksonville a solid baseline within the division.

The Green Bay Packers were the only playoff team from 2024 that had a losing record against divisional foes, so going 3-3 in the AFC South should be the minimum expectation for the Jags. Beating the Titans twice again would almost get them there.
