As if there was any doubt, Katie Ledecky is still very fast at swimming.

Ledecky took to the pool for her first top-level race since the Paris Olympics on Wednesday and posted the second-fastest 1,500m freestyle in history with a time of 15 minutes, 24.51 seconds, per Nick Zaccardi of NBC Sports.

She was the headliner at the Tyr Pro Series meet in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and ended up lapping four other swimmers and winning the heat by 39 seconds.

Ledecky is particularly dominant in the 1500m and has not lost in the event since she was 13 years old in 2010. She also owns the 22 fastest times in the event's history, so her dominance was anything but a surprise.

Her record time of 15:20.48 happened in 2018.

The American has already cemented her status as a swimming legend with 14 Olympic medals to her name, nine of which are gold. She holds the records for gold medals and total medals for an American woman and shows no sign of slowing down at 28 years old given Wednesday's performance.

The Tyr Pro Series is an important time in the swimming calendar, as it is the final Pro Series meet ahead of the U.S. Championships in June. The United States team for the World Championships in July and August will be determined at the June event in Indianapolis.

This year's World Championships take place in Singapore.
