Commanders 2025 NFL Schedule Released for Jayden Daniels, Dan Quinn's 2nd Season

Andrew PetersMay 14, 2025

Things are looking up for the Washington Commanders after decades of struggle.

Behind star rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels and new head coach Dan Quinn, the Commanders had their best season in more than 30 years. They went 12-5 in the regular season before reaching the NFC Championship for the first time since 1991.

Here's a look at the 2025 schedule for the Commanders.

Analysis

After the season the Commanders had in Year 1 of the Daniels and Quinn era, it's understandable to have high expectations heading into 2025.

Daniels, the 2024 Offensive Rookie of the Year, will be more comfortable under center and could be on his way to an MVP-caliber campaign, assuming he avoids the sophomore slump that we often see with quarterbacks.

Daniels will also have a new receiver to throw to in Deebo Samuel, as well as some more protection up front with the addition of Laremy Tunsil.

Washington plays in a tough division that features the defending champion Philadelphia Eagles, along with a Dallas Cowboys team poised to rebound after a rough year, but the Commanders showed last year that they're ready to compete in the NFC East.

Considering Washington finished just two games behind the Eagles a year ago, an NFC East title is well within reason. From there, the Commanders should be ready to compete in the playoffs just like they did last year.

Pivotal Matchups

When a team is one of the top contenders in its division, taking on divisional foes means even more.

That will be the case for the Commanders this season as they face the Eagles and Cowboys, getting one home game and one away game against those two squads. Last season, Washington split its regular-season matchups with the Eagles before losing to Philadelphia in the NFC Championship game.

Not only will the Commanders be looking to get revenge against the Eagles for last season's NFC Championship game, but winning one or two of those matchups could be the difference in a divisional title.

Washington also split its games against the Cowboys last year, but it will be looking to go for a clean sweep this year.

The Commanders should be in the running for a divisional crown, but they could also be in the mix to win the NFC and get the top seed in the postseason. That makes a home game against last year's conference winner, the Detroit Lions, even more important.

One out-of-conference game the Commanders likely have circled is a road matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs. It will be the first time Washington has faced the Chiefs since 2021, and it will be Daniels' first opportunity to go up against Patrick Mahomes.

If the Commanders get a couple of wins in those tough matchups, the rest of their schedule should be pretty straightforward.
