Quarterback Tyler Shough's dog was excited to celebrate the New Orleans Saints' decision to select Shough with the No. 40 pick of the 2025 NFL draft.
The draft broadcast shared footage of Shough's dog, Murphy, celebrating with the former Louisville quarterback and his family.

The clip won over more than a few viewers of the draft:
Shough said his family had prepared beforehand by acquiring a bandana from each team for Murphy, who is named after Jessica Chastain's character in the 2014 film Interstellar.
"She was fired up for sure," Shough said, as the camera panned out to show Murphy in a Saints bandana. "She was snoozing a bit earlier, but now she's ready to go to New Orleans."
Shough will now join Derek Carr, Spencer Rattler, Jake Haener and Ben DiNucci on the quarterback depth chart in New Orleans.
The order of the Saints depth chart is currently in question given a report from NFL Network's Ian Rapoport earlier this month which stated Carr has a shoulder injury that could impact his availability during the 2025 season.
Shough passed for 3,195 yards with 23 touchdowns and six interceptions during his senior season with the Cardinals. He left having played parts of seven college seasons for Oregon, Texas Tech and Louisville.
Multiple season-ending injuries over that stretch may have impacted Shough's pre-draft ranking, which saw him listed as the No. 113 overall prospect and No. 7 quarterback available on the final B/R 2025 NFL Draft Big Board.
Multiple quarterbacks ranked above him on the big board, including Colorado's Shedeur Sanders, Alabama's Jalen Milroe, Ohio State's Will Howard and Texas' Quinn Ewers, who were still available when the Saints got on the board on Friday night.
Shough said the Saints attended his pro day at Louisville, during which he had lunch and dinner with Saints quarterbacks coach Scott Tolzien, per The Times-Picayune's Matthew Paras. The franchise also invited him to New Orleans for a Top 30 visit, according to Fox 8 NOLA's Sean Fazende.
Those meetings may have influenced New Orleans' decision to ultimately bring in Shough— and Murphy— with a second-round pick.
