Eagles Reportedly Won't Trade A.J. Brown amid 'Internet Speculation' Before NFL Draft

The Philadelphia Eagles reportedly aren't planning on trading star wide receiver A.J. Brown heading into the 2025 NFL draft.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Eagles won't part ways with Brown despite "internet speculation."

NBC Sports' Matthew Berry reported on March 4 that the New England Patriots contacted Philadelphia to discuss Brown's availability, but Philadelphia's willingness to move him was unknown.

It doesn't appear that the receiver will experience a change of scenery, though.

Brown previously signed a three-year, $96 million extension with the Eagles in April 2024 that carries through the 2029 season.

The 27-year-old has spent the past three seasons in Philadelphia after the team acquired him in a blockbuster trade with the Tennessee Titans in 2022. Brown made an instant impact with his new team, racking up 2,952 receiving yards and 18 touchdowns over his first two years on the Eagles.

While he was limited to just 13 regular-season appearances in 2024 due to a hamstring injury, he still hauled in 67 receptions for 1,079 yards and seven scores.

Brown also made several key plays throughout the Eagles' postseason run, which included a 12-yard receiving touchdown in the second quarter of their 40-22 win over the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl 59.

As Philadelphia looks to defend its championship during the upcoming 2025 season, trading Brown reportedly isn't an option that the front office is considering.
