POSITIVES
— Pretty good strength and power at the point of attack to stand up offensive linemen and reset the line of scrimmage against the run.
— Has the strength and length to get extension and shed blocks. Also has a decent rip move to escape blocks.
— Hard to move one-on-one in the run game.
— Decent bull rush when he keeps his hands tight to occasionally collapse the pocket.
NEGATIVES
— Late and slow off the ball. Also false-steps out of his stance.
— Susceptible to getting reached with subpar block recognition and lateral movement skills.
— Often late with his hands, exposing his chest to offensive linemen.
— Plays high and struggles to sink his hips to avoid getting washed inside against down blocks and double-teams.
— Limited as a pass-rusher. Will likely be more of a two-down player in the NFL.
NOTES
— 3-star recruit in the 2020 class, per 247Sports
— Injuries: 2024 (Undisclosed, missed 1 game)
— 2024 Third-Team All-ACC
OVERALL
Cam Horsley doesn't offer much as a pass-rusher, but he could be a solid run defender in the NFL. He has plenty of strength at the point of attack to gain control of the block and shed to make tackles in his gap.
However, he will need to play with better pad level and be more effective against double-teams to have a long career as a two-down defender.
GRADE: 5.7 (Backup/Draftable — 6th-7th Round)

POSITION RANK: DL27
