Best Booking Options for Dolph Ziggler at WWE Battleground 2015

Whether you like him or not, Dolph Ziggler is one of the most talented WWE Superstars on the roster, and he deserves to be booked in a marquee match at the July pay-per-view Battleground.

For weeks, Ziggler has been involved in a storyline with Rusev, but an injury to the Bulgarian Brute put the angle on hold. Now that Rusev is healthy and Lana and Summer Rae are involved with the program, there are several ways WWE Creative can go.

Here are the best booking options for Ziggler at WWE Battleground 2015.

Dolph Ziggler Loses to Rusev in a Singles Match

During the weeks that Rusev has been recovering from his broken foot, this storyline has lost a lot of its luster. With that said, Ziggler has been making out with Lana—Rusev’s ex-girlfriend—and making the challenger look like a fool.

At Battleground, Ziggler should take the loss.

Not only would Ziggler taking the loss build back some of the credibility Rusev has lost since this holding pattern began, but it would also eliminate the comedy element of this angle and force both men to be serious during the subsequent in-ring wars.

Ziggler and Rusev are both talented in the ring and deserve the time to showcase their abilities. Add in Lana and Summer Rae likely standing ringside during the possible bout, and this is a program WWE Creative can save with some well-executed storytelling.

Mixed Tag Team Match with Summer Rae and Lana

Maybe I'm biased, but one of the most entertaining matches in WrestleMania history was the mixed tag battle between Dusty Rhodes and Sapphire vs. Randy Savage and Sherri Martel, and the WWE could create something similar with this program.

Give the WWE Universe Rusev and Summer Rae vs. Ziggler and Lana at Battleground.

This storyline would allow WWE Creative to avoid giving away the singles match between Rusev and Ziggler for another month, and it would also give the WWE Universe a unique match stipulation that isn’t seen often.

The catfight between Lana and Summer Rae got a great reaction from the fans before. The hope is that a mixed tag team match would be enough to get this angle the heat it had before Rusev went out with his injury.
