The total prize pool and winner's purse for the 2025 Masters were officially announced Saturday.

Last year, the total purse was $20 million, and Scottie Scheffler received $3.6 million for his green jacket victory.

Per ESPN's Mark Schlabach, the Masters purse has increased significantly in recent years, as the overall prize pool was $15 million with $2.7 million going to the winner in 2022.

The Masters is the first major tournament of the year, and it is arguably the most iconic, as golf fans flock to Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta, Georgia, every year to take in the action.

Over the first two days of play, Justin Rose put himself in the lead at 8-under, followed by Bryson DeChambeau at 7-under and both Rory McIlroy and Corey Conners at 6-under.

Scheffler is one of four golfers who entered the third round tied for fifth with a score of 5-under.

Of those golfers, Scheffler is the only past Masters champion, having won it in both 2022 and 2024.

Rose is a one-time U.S. Open champion with a career-best finish of second at the Masters, DeChambeau is a two-time U.S. Open champion who has never finished better than sixth at the Masters and Conners is still in search of his first major title.

McIlroy is a Masters win away from completing the career Grand Slam. Although the Northern Irishman has not won a major of any kind since 2014, he has come close on multiple occasions since then, including a second-place result at the 2022 Masters.

Assuming they don't plummet down the leaderboard, all of them are in line for huge paydays at the conclusion of the Masters.

Along with the winner bringing home $4.2 million, the second-place finisher will secure over $2 million, while third and fourth will win over $1 million.

Each of the top 10 finishers in the prestigious tournament will leave Augusta with a check for at least $500,000.
