NFL Draft 2025 Predictions for Top QBs in Latest Expert Mocks

Selection time is fast approaching in the NFL world.

The Tennessee Titans aren't officially on the clock, but they may as well be with the 2025 NFL Draft set to kick-off on Thursday, April 24.

This draft class has potential difference-makers on both sides of the ball, but as per usual, the pre-draft focus is all on the quarterbacks. That might as well get used to it, since NFL focus starts with the sport's most important position more often than not, too.

The incoming signal-callers have our attention here, as we're eyeballing where the top quarterback prospects landed in recent expert mocks from the B/R NFL Scouting Department, ESPN's Mel Kiper Jr. and NFL.com's Gennaro Filice.

An Early Draft Night for Cam Ward?

Miami quarterback Cam Ward wasn't the Heisman Trophy winner. He's not the highest-ranked prospect on the B/R NFL Scouting Department's big board, either. (Both of those honors belong to Colorado wide receiver/cornerback Travis Hunter.)

Ward finds himself standing alone at the top of this draft now, though. All three mocks had the Tennessee Titans taking him with the first overall pick.

"The Titans don't have a franchise quarterback, and they have a chance to get one in Ward," Kiper wrote. "To win in the NFL, you have to take those opportunities when they present themselves. ... Ward would bring to Nashville a big arm, an ability to create outside of structure and good accuracy."

Ward, who transferred from Washington State to Miami ahead of the 2024 season, was electric during his lone campaign with the Hurricanes. He threw for 4,313 yards and 39 touchdowns (against seven interceptions) on 67.2 percent passing and rushed for another 204 yards and four scores. His 158 career passing touchdowns set a new NCAA Division I record.

Shedeur Sanders Bound for the Big Easy?

Shedeur Sanders' two-year run at Colorado was remarkable. It wasn't, however, enough to lock him into top-five status as a draft prospect.

In fact, all three of these expert mocks have Sanders slipping to No. 9 and landing with the New Orleans Saints, who may have already lost Derek Carr for the upcoming campaign.

"New head coach Kellen Moore gets a chance to select his potential franchise QB," Dame Parson wrote for B/R. "Sanders is a precision passer with great accuracy. He will be able to deliver the ball with good pacing and placement to their young and explosive playmakers."

Over two seasons with the Buffaloes, notably coached by his father, Deion Sanders, Shedeur routinely carved up defenses with pinpoint accuracy and the ability to make plays on the move. His two-year tally at Colorado featured 64 passing touchdowns against 13 interceptions and a 71.8 completion percentage.

Only 2 QBs in Round 1? Maybe

If you can find an over/under of 2.5 quarterbacks taken in the first round, this expert pool would point you toward the under.

Of the three expert mocks, only one had a third quarterback cracking the first round. That was Kiper, who sent Ole Miss' Jaxson Dart to the Los Angeles Rams at pick No. 26.

"Rams coach Sean McVay could develop Dart into a legit future starter," Kiper wrote. "Of course, I say 'future' because Matthew Stafford's contract restructure keeps him in Los Angeles for at least another season. But he's 37 years old, and the Rams have to make plans for 2026 and beyond. Dart can hit receivers' strike zones on a rope, and his ability to throw on the run is fun to watch."

Dart is the B/R NFL Scouting Department's third-ranked quarterback prospect, but there's a canyon between him and the top two. While Ward ranked ninth overall and Sanders sat at 23rd, Dart didn't pop up until 57th. Dart set a slew of career-highs this past season, including his 69.3 completion percentage, 4,279 passing yards and 29 touchdown passes.
