Luther Burden III Reportedly 'Likely' to Be Available in Round 2 of 2025 NFL Draft

Jack MurrayApr 11, 2025

Luther Burden III reportedly may need to wait beyond the first round of the 2025 NFL draft to hear his name called.

Matt Miller of ESPN reported Friday that the Missouri wide receiver will "likely" be on the board for teams in the second round, although he should be an early pick once Day 2 gets underway.

"I'm going to continue to bang the table for Burden as a first-round talent, but the buzz around the league is he'll likely be available in Round 2," Miller wrote. "If that's the case, he should come off the board within the first few selections of Day 2. Burden has an excellent ability to pick up extra yards after the catch and has upside as an outside X receiver. He would be a fantastic fit with [Cam] Ward in Tennessee."

Burden is rated as the No. 36 overall player and the No. 5 wide receiver in the 2025 NFL draft by Bleacher Report's NFL Scouting Department. He had 61 catches for 676 yards and nine touchdowns for Missouri in 2024.

That represented a decided dip in production for Burden after he had 1,212 yards from 86 catches in 2023.

Even if Burden hears his name called after the likes of Matthew Golden, Tetairoa McMillan and Emeka Egbuka, he could be a hot commodity that teams look to trade up for when the second day of the draft gets underway.

The 2025 NFL draft is set for April 24-26 in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
