Jalen Milroe Reportedly 'Impressive' in Private Workouts with Browns, Saints

Jalen Milroe reportedly made a strong impression on multiple teams in private workouts leading up to the 2025 NFL draft.

Milroe's workouts with the Cleveland Browns and New Orleans Saints were described as "impressive," according to Fox Sports' Jordan Schultz.

The Alabama quarterback previously met with the New York Jets and Pittsburgh Steelers before his pro day on March 19, per Schultz.

Milroe is coming off a 2024 campaign with the Crimson Tide in which he excelled on the ground but wasn't able to take a step forward as a passer.

In 13 games, he rushed for 726 yards and 20 touchdowns. Milroe also completed 64.3 percent of his throws for 2,844 yards and 16 touchdowns compared to 11 interceptions.

It was a relatively disappointing season through the air for the signal-caller, as he recorded a 65.8 completion percentage and 23 touchdowns while getting picked off just nine times during his 2023 campaign.

Still, his reportedly sharp performances in private workouts could lead teams to believe that his arm talent was represented better in 2023 compared to 2024.

Milroe was listed as the No. 5 quarterback and No. 79 overall player in the 2025 draft class on the most recent big board from Bleacher Report's NFL Scouting Department.

B/R NFL Scout Dame Parson highlighted Milroe's athleticism and promise in the pocket in his scouting report.

"Overall Milroe's outstanding blend of elite speed/athleticism, physically dense build, and a live arm fits the trend of today's quarterback archetypes," Parson wrote. "As he has shown this season, there are encouraging flashes of development as a pocket passer."

The Browns own the No. 2 overall pick in the 2025 draft while the Saints hold the No. 9 selection.

While both teams may not select Milroe that high, they could target him with a Day 2 pick.

Cleveland's quarterback situation is uncertain, trading for former first-round pick Kenny Pickett on March 12 after he spent the 2024 season as a depth option on the Philadelphia Eagles.

For the Saints, veteran Derek Carr still has two years left on his contract but his long-term future with the team is uncertain.

If New Orleans drafts Milroe, he'd likely operate in a backup role during his rookie year while adjusting to the NFL.
