Player Gets a Yellow Card for Taking an In-Match Selfie with Zinedine Zidane
July 11, 2015
Is a legendary social media post worth a yellow card?
One footballer would argue that the Instagram "like" outweighs the cost of going into the referee's book.
We introduce the Zinedine Zidane Effect.
During an indoor futsal competition in Dubai, one player paused to grab a selfie with Zidane during the match. Priorities.
The player's actions hardly impressed the referee, who duly showed the selfie-taker a yellow card.
Can we blame him, though? It's Zidane.
The former Real Madrid man showed flashes of his former self too, setting up his son Enzo for a goal and scoring a cheeky one himself.
