Daniels is the current NBA steals leader and in the running for the Defensive Player of the Year Award. He is averaging 3.1 steals per game, which is the most since John Stockton averaged 3.2 steals in 1988-89.

Daniels is in his 3rd NBA season after being selected eighth overall in 2022. He is averaging 14.1 points, 5.8 rebounds and 4.3 assists in 69 games for Atlanta in 2024.

This has been a big step up from his previous two seasons as he averaged 5.8 points, 3.9 rebounds and 2.7 assists in 2023-24 and 3.8 points, 3.2 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 2022-23.

He set the Hawks single-season steals record Sunday night with his 213th steal of the season. With 10 games remaining on the schedule, he could move up the ranks in the all-time leaders but is pretty far off of Alvin Robertson's overall record of 301.

Still, Dyson has emerged as one of the better perimeter defenders in the NBA and should have a bright future with Atlanta. Adidas appears to have recognized this and soon Dyson could be making plays with some special shoes.
