Tyreek Hill Laughs at Dolphins Trade Rumors as a 'False Narrative' Ahead of NFL Draft

Joseph ZuckerMay 14, 2025

Miami Dolphins Tyreek Hill laughed off another rumor linking him to a trade out of South Florida.

The eight-time Pro Bowler responded to a news aggregation account on social media that said he was open to joining a playoff contender.

"Lol another false narrative," he said.

Hill has two more years left to run on his contract, while the Dolphins are coming off an 8-9 season that saw them miss the playoffs. Perhaps this was the window to trade the decorated pass-catcher and hit the reset button.

As last year drew to a close, it certainly sounded like Hill was planning for a post-Miami future. He told reporters in January he had to "do what's best for me and my family, if that's here or that's wherever the case may be."

General manager Chris Grier quickly followed up to say that Hill hasn't requested a trade, and the absence of a move to this point speaks for itself.

On Monday, head coach Mike McDaniel reiterated that the team has Hill firmly in its short-term plans.

"We are fully planning to move forward for a better version of our relationship with Tyreek," he told reporters.

Still, the speculation is likely to persist, at least until the 2025 NFL draft. An aggressive GM could theoretically put forth a trade offer that's too good for Miami to turn down.

Once the draft concludes, the window to trade Hill doesn't close completely, but the Dolphins' incentive to pursue that pathway is much less because any assets they get won't really help much in the season ahead.

Assuming he's still on Miami's roster on April 27, he probably won't be going anywhere.
