NFL Network's Mike Garafolo first reported Rodgers and Metcalf had a workout together "over the weekend" at UCLA.

The free-agent quarterback previously met with the Steelers' coaching staff at their training facility for roughly six hours on March 21 as he considers a possible future destination, per ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Despite a playoff appearance in 2024, Pittsburgh has committed to improving its offense after owning the NFL's sixth-worst passing attack last season.

The Steelers acquired Metcalf from the Seattle Seahawks in exchange for a package centered around a 2025 second-round pick on March 9, subsequently handing the two-time Pro Bowl wideout a new five-year contract extension worth $150 million.

Pittsburgh is still searching for an established starting option under center to throw to Metcalf and George Pickens, though. Mason Rudolph and Skylar Thompson are the only quarterbacks on the team's current roster, with both players serving as depth options throughout their respective careers.

While Rodgers has yet to make a decision, it doesn't appear to be a troubling sign for Pittsburgh.

Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin previously confirmed that the front office hasn't given the veteran a deadline to sign and told reporters on Monday that he's "really comfortable with being unsettled this time of year."

Rodgers eventually agreeing to a contract with Pittsburgh is also considered a "safe bet," according to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk.

The 41-year-old failed to meet expectations during his 2024 campaign with the New York Jets, but he also showed that he can still be a capable starter. Rodgers completed 63 percent of his throws for 3,897 yards and 28 touchdowns compared to 11 interceptions in 17 starts.

As the signal-caller continues to navigate through his free agency, it appears he's staying sharp.
