Video: NFL Legend Calvin Johnson Reveals Advice for Travis Hunter Before 2025 Draft

Andrew PetersMar 21, 2025

As Travis Hunter prepares for the NFL draft, he got some advice from one of the best wide receivers to ever play the game.

On his podcast, The Travis Hunter Show, the Colorado two-way star spoke to legendary wide receiver Calvin Johnson and got some pointers on how to succeed in the NFL.

"The biggest thing I would have to say is this is your business," Johnson said (26:07 mark). "Your body is your business and your business is going to go as far as you continue to invest in it. Always invest in your business in what you eat, how you work, to the people that you put around it."

Johnson's advice to take care of your body should hit home for Hunter as he prepares to potentially play on both sides of the ball. He's said throughout the draft process that his preference is to play both receiver and cornerback, which would require staying in top shape throughout his career.

Whether as a receiver or a defensive back, Hunter is sure to be a top pick in this year's draft.

In his final season with the Buffaloes, he racked up 1,258 receiving yards and 15 touchdowns, adding 24 tackles, four interceptions and 11 passes defended on the defensive side.

Bleacher Report's NFL Scouting Department projects Hunter to be the No. 3 overall pick to the New York Giants in April.
