Packers Rumors: GM Gutekunst Was Only NFL GM at Tetairoa McMillan's Private Workout
The Green Bay Packers may have their eye on Arizona wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan.
Jordan Reid of ESPN reported Friday that Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst was the only NFL general manager in attendance for McMillan's private workout on Monday.
"Arizona wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan held a private workout for scouts Monday afternoon, participating in the 40-yard dash and running routes," Reid wrote. "The three evaluators I talked to were very complimentary of his performance. Times ranged in the 4.52-4.56 range for McMillan, which matches the speed scouts projected for him. Brian Gutekunst of the Packers was the lone NFL general manager in attendance, per sources. Along with Texas' Matthew Golden, McMillan is considered a strong contender to be the first receiver off the board and a fringe top-10 pick (No. 15 in my top 50)."

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
McMillan is rated as the No. 6 overall prospect and the No. 1 wide receiver in the 2025 NFL Draft by Bleacher Report's NFL Scouting Department. In their latest mock draft, he was projected to go eighth overall to the Carolina Panthers. The Packers currently hold the No. 23 pick in the draft.
McMillan played three collegiate seasons for Arizona and had 84 catches for 1,319 yards and eight touchdowns in 2024. He was named an All-American and has a 6'4", 219-pound frame.
The Packers did not have a 1,000-yard receiver in 2024 despite going 11-6 and reaching the postseason. Jayden Reed was their top receiver with 55 catches for 875 yards and six touchdowns, while tight end Tucker Kraft led the team with seven touchdowns.
McMillan could step in as a prime target for Jordan Love and develop in head coach Matt LaFleur's system. It may require a trade up to land him, but it looks like the Packers have McMillan on their radar at the very least.
