Shedeur Sanders Rumors: Giants Had Presence at Every Colorado Game Ahead of NFL Draft

The New York Giants had representatives at every Colorado game to monitor Shedeur Sanders throughout the 2024 season, according to NFL Network's Daniel Jeremiah.

"I was told by someone, outside the Giants organization but someone inside the league, that said the Giants had a presence at every single Colorado game this year," Jeremiah said on Thursday's 40s and Free Agents podcast (10:20 mark). "They were following Shedeur Sanders around the entire season."

Jeremiah also explained that he projected Sanders to fall past the Cleveland Browns with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft before getting picked up by New York at No. 3 in his latest mock draft.

"Why is Shedeur Sanders good enough for the Giants at three, but yet not good enough for the Browns at two? That's a common question, and I can explain it this way," Jeremiah said (9:50 mark). "With Abdul Carter being there, premium player, premium position, that's a tougher decision when you're choosing between those two options. Obviously, he's off the table here for the Giants."

Sanders is coming off an efficient 2024 campaign with the Buffaloes, finishing No. 8 in Heisman Trophy voting.

He completed 74 percent of his throws for 4,134 yards and 37 touchdowns compared to 10 interceptions. The 23-year-old also scored four times on the ground.

Sanders has been linked to New York multiple times throughout the pre-draft process, with ESPN's Jordan Raanan reporting on Feb. 24 that "multiple league insiders are convinced the Giants have their sights on Sanders."

In the latest mock draft from Bleacher Report's NFL Scouting Department, the Browns were projected to add Sanders at No. 2. Meanwhile, the Giants added Colorado two-way standout Travis Hunter with the No. 3 selection.

Sanders may not be available when New York is on the clock once the first round of the 2025 draft begins on April 24, but the Giants still appear to have done extensive research on the signal-caller.
