Video: Shedeur Sanders Recalls Tom Brady's Advice Amid Raiders, NFL Draft Rumors

Zach BacharMar 20, 2025

Shedeur Sander revealed the advice that Tom Brady gave him as the Colorado quarterback prepares for the 2025 NFL draft.

"I would say when we spoke, the most in-depth I'll say was early on in my college career," Sanders said. "So a lot of things that he would speak on wouldn't register to me until like now. So, now my plan for the next couple of weeks and next couple of months is go back and re-watch all the footage that we talked about. And now register more and how you're saying, 'Turn your hips when you're throwing, create torque.' And all that stuff."

Brady, a minority owner of the Las Vegas Raiders, has reportedly been impressed with Sanders' performance during his tenure with the Buffaloes.

The Raiders own the No. 6 overall pick in the 2025 draft.

Sanders may not necessarily be on Las Vegas' radar as a starting option in 2025, though.

The Raiders traded a 2025 third-round pick to the Seattle Seahawks in exchange for two-time Pro Bowl quarterback Geno Smith on March 7.

Smith will turn 35 years old during the 2025 season and only has one year remaining on his current contract, but Tashan Reed of The Athletic reported that he's "expected" to receive an extension.

The Raiders may be hesitant to attempt trading up for Sanders after parting ways with a third-round pick for Smith, as the Colorado standout will likely be off the board before Las Vegas is on the clock.

Sanders was projected to head to the Cleveland Browns with the No. 2 overall pick during the latest mock draft from Bleacher Report's NFL Scouting Department.

B/R NFL Scout Dame Parson highlighted the 23-year-old's accuracy in his scouting report.

"He throws a catchable ball on the move or inside the pocket," Parson wrote. "He has outstanding poise to make plays out of structure when forced out of the pocket. Sanders is an incredibly accurate and precise passer, especially in the short-to-intermediate parts of the field."

While Brady's influence may not result in Sanders heading to Las Vegas, it's an encouraging sign for potential suitors that the top draft prospect is taking the advice of the NFL's all-time leading passer.
