Julia StumbaughMar 15, 2025

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown's book recommendations extend past what he reads during games.

Brown, who went viral for reading Jim Murphy's "Inner Excellence" on the sideline of a playoff game in January, shared his recommendation list in a Saturday post on X.

"Reading has become fun for me and another way I challenge myself to grow on a regular basis," Brown wrote. "Here are some books that I’ve read last year and the beginning of this year as well."

Brown's recommendation list includes:

- The Complete Works of Florence Scovel Shinn

- "The Tongue, a Creative Force" by Charles Capps

- "Living as a Christian" by A.W. Tozer

- "The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck" by Mark Manson

- "Uncommon" by Tony Dungy

- "The Rise: Kobe Bryant and the Pursuit of Immortality" by Mike Sielski

- "Feel The Fear And Do It Anyway" by Susan Jeffers

Brown added that he is currently reading Kishimi and Koga's "The Courage to Be Disliked."

"I will be talking about whatever book that I’m reading at the moment and I will discuss it and how it impacts me and hopefully I can encourage someone to choose that book and read so that it may help someone in the future," Brown wrote.

After he went viral for reading "Inner Excellence" during the Eagles' NFC Wild Card round win over the Green Bay Packers, Brown wrote on X in January that football is "90 percent mental and 10 percent physical" and that he reads "between each drive."

Murphy, the author of "Inner Excellence," saw his Amazon sales skyrocket after Brown shouted out his book.

Some of the authors on the wide receiver's latest list could potentially see a similar spike in sales if Eagles fans decide to take up Brown's other recommendations.
