Twitter Reacts as Manchester United Reportedly Agree Fee for Matteo Darmian

As Manchester United prepare to fly out to the United States for a pre-season tour that is likely to arouse plenty of anger in Louis van Gaal, the Red Devils appear to be taking steps to improve their squad. According to Sky Sports, United have agreed a fee of £12.7 million with Torino for Matteo Darmian. 

When the news broke, the 25-year-old started trending on Twitter, and a solitary clip of him putting in a nifty cross circulated...

Despite the fact that Darmian played for the Azzurri during their World Cup victory over England last summer, one question dominated the online conversation...

Inevitably, the wave of positivity and claims of detailed knowledge about a relatively unknown player brought about a few skeptical comments... 

One man who may not be amused by Darmian's potential arrival is Antonio Valencia, whose place in the starting XI may be in jeopardy—much to the delight of the majority of fans...

At the time of publication, no official word has been given on Darmian's arrival at Old Trafford. However, it has been noted that the Serie A side—who bought out Palermo's stake in the player two years ago—might want to get negotiations moving swiftly... 

It looks like this Darmian deal is getting cheaper by the minute.
