DK Metcalf Trade Rumors: Raiders 'Unlikely' amid Patriots, Chargers, Panthers Buzz
Despite his links to some within the organization, the Las Vegas Raiders reportedly aren't being viewed as a probable landing spot for Seattle Seahawks superstar wide receiver DK Metcalf this offseason.
Speaking on Sunday's episode of SportsCenter about where Metcalf could potentially get traded, ESPN NFL insider Jeremy Fowler said Metcalf getting dealt to the Raiders is "probably unlikely."
Metcalf, who is set to enter the final year of his contract in 2025, requested a trade last week. Seahawks general manager John Schneider later said on Seattle Sports 710-AM (h/t ESPN's Brady Henderson) that he had spoken to "a ton of teams" with interest in the two-time Pro Bowler.

The Raiders immediately stood out as a possible landing spot due to the presence of new head coach Pete Carroll, who replaced the fired Antonio Pierce.
Carroll was the Seahawks' head coach for 14 seasons, and he coached Metcalf from 2019 to 2023.
Yet another connection was made last week when the Raiders agreed to acquire quarterback Geno Smith in a trade with the Seahawks. Smith had been with the Seahawks since Metcalf's rookie season in 2019, and he was the starter for the past three campaigns.
In three seasons with Smith as his quarterback, Metcalf averaged 74 receptions for 1,051 yards and just over six touchdowns per year.
Despite the familiarity and the Raiders' need for a viable wide receiver across from Jakobi Meyers, Fowler does not see Vegas making a play for the 27-year-old veteran.
Fowler named the Los Angeles Chargers, Carolina Panthers and New England Patriots as teams that could possibly be in the mix for Metcalf, though.
Metcalf would perhaps be the ideal complement for Ladd McConkey in L.A., and Fowler said he believes the Chargers have at least "cursory interest" in Metcalf, but he also called them a "draft-and-develop" team who may not be "overly eager to give up a first-round pick and more" for Metcalf.
As for the Panthers, Fowler pointed out that they have a need at wide receiver and that head coach Dave Canales was an assistant coach with the Seahawks from 2010 to 2022.
The Patriots would perhaps make the most sense for Metcalf given their obvious need to bring in a top target for quarterback Drake Maye.
Fowler said he believes the Pats will be a "major player" for a Metcalf trade or for Chris Godwin in free agency, although cost will undoubtedly play a factor.
Dianna Russini, Michael Shawn-Dugar and Chris Licata of The Athletic reported last week that the Seahawks are seeking a first- and third-round pick in exchange for Metcalf, but it is fair to wonder if any team would be willing to give that up, especially since they would also have to sign Metcalf to a hefty contract extension after acquiring him.
