Bills Rumors: Von Miller Return in NFL Free Agency Seen as '50-50 Proposition'
Von Miller's $23.8 million cap hit has made him a prime candidate to be released this offseason, though a $15.4 million dead cap charge would accompany such a decision.
Another option would be to rework that deal and bring him back, as ESPN's Jeremy Fowler wrote on Sunday.
"Buffalo hasn't ruled out bringing back veteran edge-rusher Miller, who turns 36 later this month," he noted. "But the Bills have to find a way to rework his contract and get him to agree to a pay cut from his currently scheduled $17.5 million. One source I spoke to described Miller's return to Buffalo as a '50-50' proposition."

If Miller was coming off of an excellent season, the Bills would undoubtedly find a solution to keep him as a situation pass-rusher. But the veteran hasn't posted a season with double-digit sacks since 2018, registering six sacks, seven tackles for loss and eight quarterback hits in 13 games.
That, of course, was an improvement over his sack-less 2023 campaign.
Injuries and age remain a concern, as Miller has missed four or more games in three straight seasons. If he's willing to take a significant pay cut, keeping him makes sense for Buffalo. If not, however, the Bills could find better uses for the cap savings they would accrue by releasing him.
