Deebo Samuel Posts Farewell Video to 49ers After Reported Trade to Commanders

Deebo Samuel is expressing appreciation for his now former fans.

The San Francisco 49ers dealt Samuel to the Washington Commanders on Saturday, ending his six-year tenure with the franchise. Following this, Samuel took to Instagram to thank 49ers fans for their support.

The video Samuel shared showcased several of his highlights during his tenure with the franchise. He captioned the photo by saying that he "appreciated" the fans for "everything."

Samuel was a one-time Pro Bowler and a key piece of a 49ers team that reached two Super Bowls. He made 334 catches for 4,792 yards and 42 total touchdowns during his time with the team.

His best season came in 2021 when he had 1,770 yards from scrimmage and 14 total touchdowns. He played a variety of roles for the team and helped alleviate pressure from other notable stars like Christian McCaffrey and Brandon Aiyuk.

He joins a Commanders team that is coming off of an 11-6 season and a trip to the NFC Championship Game. He will slot behind wide receiver Terry McLaurin as a top option for quarterback Jayden Daniels and will look to revitalize his career on the East Coast.
