WWE's The Rock Tops Forbes' 2024 List of Highest-Paid Actors; John Cena 16th

A pair of WWE legends were among the 20 highest-paid actors in Hollywood in 2024.

According to a list compiled by Matt Craig of Forbes, Dwyane "The Rock" Johnson had $103 million in gross earnings and $88 million in net earnings last year, making him the most lucrative actor in Hollywood.

While a bit further down the list, fellow WWE Superstar John Cena also made it at No. 16 thanks to $30 million in gross earnings and $23 million in net earnings.

The Rock has been among the biggest movie stars in the world for about the past 15 years, and 2024 was another huge year for him thanks to Red One and Moana 2.

Per Craig, The Rock was paid an estimated $50 million to star in the Christmas movie Red One, which set an Amazon Prime Video record with 50 million viewers during its opening weekend on the platform.

Cena has not been starring in major films for as long as The Rock, but he has made plenty of headway in recent years, primarily as a comedic actor.

In 2024, Cena starred in Apple's Argylle and Amazon Prime's Ricky Stanicky and Jackpot!

While both The Rock and Cena remain two of the most successful actors in Hollywood, they are both making time for WWE during the lead up to WrestleMania 41 in April.

The Rock appeared on SmackDown last week to make a proposal to WWE champion Cody Rhodes, and he will be present for Elimination Chamber on Saturday to get an answer from Cody regarding whether he agrees to essentially sell him his soul.

Last year, The Rock headlined Night 1 of WrestleMania 40 when he teamed with Roman Reigns to beat Rhodes and Seth Rollins.

Cena announced last year that 2025 would be his final year as an active in-ring competitor in WWE.

He was the runner-up in the men's Royal Rumble match last month, and on Saturday he will compete in the men's Elimination Chamber match with the winner going on to challenge Rhodes for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 42.

Cena is tied with Ric Flair for the most world title reigns in history with 16, and he has made it his stated goal to break the record with reign No. 17 this year.

Given how popular The Rock and Cena have become in the acting world, having both of them in the fold in some capacity for WrestleMania 41 is a major coup for WWE.
