Will Johnson: 'I Know I'm the Best CB' in 2025 NFL Draft Over Travis Hunter

Michigan cornerback Will Johnson is confident that he's the top player at his position in the 2025 NFL draft class.

Johnson ranked himself above Colorado's Travis Hunter during a Thursday appearance on Pro Football Talk at the scouting combine in Indianapolis.

"Lot of respect to him," Johnson said (0:40 mark). "He's won the Heisman, he did a lot of great things, but I know I'm the best corner in this draft. So I'm just waiting until I get on the field, let the play do the talking."

Johnson made six appearances in 2024 due to a foot injury, but he still made his presence felt despite the limited availability. He recorded 14 tackles, three passes defensed and two interceptions.

Both interceptions were returned for touchdowns.

Johnson previously served as a key starter on a Michigan squad that won a national championship during the 2023 season, owning the second-best pass defense in the country.

Hunter, who also started at wide receiver for Colorado in 2024, thrived at cornerback for the Buffaloes. He racked up 11 passes defensed and four interceptions in 11 starts.

On the latest big board from Bleacher Report's NFL Scouting Department, Hunter was ranked as the No. 1 cornerback in the 2025 draft while Johnson sat at No. 2.

Both players should hear their names called early on draft night, but Johnson believes that he'll be the better player at the NFL level.
