NFL Franchise Tag 2025: Full List of Players

Scott PolacekFeb 17, 2025

It may feel like the confetti just stopped falling on the Philadelphia Eagles after their Super Bowl victory, but teams around the NFL are already laying the foundation for the 2025 campaign in the early stages of an important offseason.

The first major occurrence on the NFL's offseason calendar is the franchise-tag window when teams can designate the tags to further ensure a player remains on the roster for the upcoming campaign.

That window opened on Feb. 18 and closed at 4 p.m. ET on March 4, ahead of free agency and the NFL draft.

As Jack McKessy of USA Today explained, the non-exclusive tag is the most common one used and still allows players to negotiate with other teams. However, the team that placed the tag can either match another offer said player received or get two first-round draft picks in return as compensation for said player's departure.

Another option is the transition tag, which is less common and also allows the player to negotiate elsewhere. However, the team that placed the tag does not receive compensation in the form of draft picks if the player leaves even though it can still match any offer.

With that in mind, here is a look at which teams used the tag before Tuesday's deadline.
