Frias to DL,ย Coulombe Recalled
Sunday, July 5
The team announcedย left-handerย Daniel Coulombe would be recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City to fill Frias' spot on the roster. Coulombe appeared in four games earlier this season, giving up six earned runs in 6.1 innings before being sent back down.
Frias, 25, was removed from his June 30 start against the Arizona Diamondbacks after five innings due to back tightness. He underwent an MRI that showed no structural damage, but he did not look 100 percent in his scheduled bullpen session Saturday.ย
"He was okay today. Not quite as good as we'd like him to be. We're still talking, and haven't really made a decision on him yet," Dodgers manager Don Mattingly said, per Eric Stephenย of SB Nation. "The pen seemed to go good, better than the other day. But he wasn't throwing free and it wasn't totally out of his mind."
Frias is 5-5 with a 4.39 ERA and 1.55 WHIP this season.ย
