Cardinals' Kyler Murray Reportedly Out vs. Colts amid Foot Injury, QB Could Miss Weeks
Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray is expected to miss Sunday's game against the Indianapolis Colts due to a foot injury, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Jacoby Brissett is in line to start.
According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Murray is dealing with a version of a Lisfranc injury. It's possible he misses more than Sunday's game, Rapoport added.
Murray has led the Cardinals to a 2-3 record while completing 68.3 percent of his passes for six touchdowns and three interceptions this season. He has also rushed for 173 yards and a score.
After missing nine games during the 2023 season while recovering from a torn ACL, Murray returned to his old self in 2024. He appeared in all 17 games last season and completed 68.8 percent of his passes for 3,851 yards, 21 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. He also added 572 rushing yards and five more touchdowns.
Behind Murray's resurgence, the Cardinals finished with an 8-9 record and placed third in the NFC West, missing the playoffs for the third straight year.
The No. 1 pick in the 2019 NFL draft, Murray is one of the most dynamic players in the league. The two-time Pro Bowler already holds multiple Cardinals franchise records and has the chance to become the 14th quarterback in NFL history with 3,000 career rushing yards.
Brissett was signed this offseason to be Arizona's backup quarterback. He has extensive experience and has suited up for five different teams before joining the Cardinals, so he should be able to stabilize things until Murray is able to return.
