NFL Super Bowl 59 Bonus Prize Money Revealed for Jalen Hurts, Eagles and Chiefs

Joseph ZuckerFeb 11, 2025

Super Bowl LIX MVP Jalen Hurts and his Philadelphia Eagles teammates received one last payout from the 2024 NFL season thanks to their 40-22 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs.

ESPN's Adam Schefter noted each Eagles player earned $171,000 for winning the Super Bowl. The Chiefs may have watched their bid for history get denied, but at least their players got $96,000 apiece.

The Super Bowl bonus is a drop in the bucket for Hurts after he signed his five-year, $255 million extension in 2023. He earned a $38.9 million option bonus for this year.

For others on Philly's roster, an extra $171,000 goes much further. Rookie cornerbacks Cooper DeJean and Quinyon Mitchell, for example, only had base salaries of $795,000.

Both were massive bargains on their rookie deals as they helped the Eagles build the NFL's best pass defense. In the Super Bowl, DeJean had a pick-six to put his team ahead 17-0 in the second quarter.

Should the Eagles go on to repeat in Super Bowl LX, they'll wind up getting a slightly bigger bonus. The NFL's collective bargaining agreement calls for next year's Super Bowl champion to get $178,000 per player.
