Roman Reigns Is Benefiting from Feud with Bray Wyatt at WWE Battleground 2015

The WWE Universe is excited for the match between Roman Reigns and Bray Wyatt at the 2015 edition of the Battleground pay-per-view on Sunday, July 19, but it should be Reigns who is most excited because of how this battle will elevate his character.

Reigns is benefiting the most from this storyline.

As seen from last week’s episode of Raw, the crowd is in support of Reigns when Wyatt comes out to attack him. The WWE Universe enjoys Wyatt because he plays the perfect heel, but for the first time in a long time, Reigns is the clear babyface in this storyline.

The majority of fans are cheering for Reigns in this angle, and that’s what the company wants.

The biggest criticisms of Reigns have been his struggles on the mic. Luckily, Wyatt has the ability to cut some of the best promos in WWE, and he will carry this entire feud storyline-wise. Just as Wyatt was forced to carry the angle against The Undertaker leading up to WrestleMania, he will do the same for Reigns.

Let the former Royal Rumble winner be the tough guy who doesn’t say much, and let Wyatt get the fans to hate him with his words.

Inside the ring there have been criticisms of Reigns as well, but once again, Wyatt will be there to help. Reigns has improved drastically over the last year but has struggled at times to carry longer singles matches against less talented performers. On the other hand, Wyatt has worked big-time matches against quality competitors like Chris Jericho and Undertaker and has delivered every time.

The combination of two hungry competitors working together should result in a stellar bout overall.

The match should be great because the two younger combatants understand their situation. WWE officials see a bright future for Reigns and Wyatt as bona fide stars for years to come. With both men looking to get themselves over with the crowd and the people backstage, each will leave it all on the mat and on the mic in this feud.

Wyatt has the potential to make Reigns look so strong.

From a broader perspective, this storyline with Wyatt also helps Reigns because it keeps him toward the top of the card despite being out of the WWE World Heavyweight Championship scene. This is one of the most anticipated Battleground matches announced thus far, and many fans are excited to see Reigns and Wyatt finally step into the ring for a fight.

With Wyatt getting the upper hand on the mic and in the storyline through the first three weeks, Reigns is poised to steal the first match in this series at Battleground. A likely victory would go a long way in building rapport with the crowd, but there is little doubt this feud will extend for multiple PPVs.

The storyline between Reigns and Wyatt should help cement both men as top stars.
