Dear, Richard Seymour...Will You Please Speak To The Raider Nation
Dear, Richard Seymour...
Look man, people in the Bay Area have it hard enough with the cost of living in Northern California. I understand you are upset about the trade or at least what has been reported in the news.
There has been so many different takes on the trade, weather it was Tom Cable saying "he has talked with you and you wanted to be a Raider", or Rodney Harrison saying you wasn't "thrilled about it".

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
I just want to know the truth, can we get some honest answers from you or your agent?
I'm not saying it's greed, and I understand you have to do what's best for you and your family for the long term, but Al Davis and the Oakland Raiders gave up a first round pick in 2011 for you.
I mean the least you can do is give Raiders fans some knowledge to what your plans are, or what you would like.
I'm so tired of reading all this crap on the Internet it makes me sick.
If its money and a long term deal you want, then that's fine, I can understand the hold-up.
I'm sure your agent and Al Davis will work something out, as Al has no problem paying players he targets, big money.
The Raiders didn't trade a first round pick for a one year rental player, the plan is to keep you here long term and for you to sign an extension and be a part of the Raiders franchise for many years.
Look, I know people, the media talks down on the Oakland Raiders, however you've got to understand something, players who play in Oakland, have to want to be Raiders, as this is a franchise with a rich history.
I also know the last time you were in Oakland, in week 15 of the 2008 regular season, the Patriots won a sloppy rainy game, it was the end of the season and the Raiders was out of the playoff hunt.
The stadium didn't by any means look impressive with the rain and lack of fans, due to the cold wet conditions, but I was still there just like all the other die hard Raiders fans, but man that is so far from reality of how Oakland will be this season.
If that is the image you have of Oakland, then you need to forget about that and see the bigger picture, this off-season and the final two games of 2008 against Houston and Tampa Bay have changed the Raiders for the better.
We have a great chance to win our division regardless of what haters say, if we can do that then we will host a playoff game this season, and once we get into the playoffs anything can happen.
However before any of that can happen.
We needed to add players who want to be here and want to be apart of bringing the Oakland Raiders back into the picture of the AFC Championship hunt.
Now I know you didn't choose to come here, you was traded against your knowledge and will.
The New England Patriots didn't want you anymore man, they gave you up for a draft pick two years from now.
However in Oakland you have a team that really wants you bad, and a fan base that has been watching around the clock on updates about you.
You already have three Super Bowl rings, five Pro Bowl trips. You have been a part of success, this is what the Raiders are trying to get back to, our defense this season needs you and that's why we did whatever it took to get you in the sliver and black.
However as Raiders fans, we need to know that you are ready to battle for the Raider Nation.
The Oakland Raiders have a great shot at winning the AFC WEST this season, with adding you to our defense we improve by a lot.
You, Tommy Kelly, Greg Ellis, and Trevor Scott will be a tough line to run on, plus behind you at LB you will have Thomas Howard, Kirk Morrison, and Ricky Brown.
With adding you, it will take pressure off of the LB's and free them up for making tackles.
Raiders fans don't care about your age, if you can play and still be productive that's all that matters, you have the talent of a Pro Bowl player and the experience of a Super Bowl champion.
Funny how nobody talks about your age while you are on New England when you put up 8 sacks and 52 tackles last season but the moment you get traded now you are too old.
Nah man, fuck that shit.
With the pressure of you, Kelly, Ellis, and Scott it will force QB's to pass more, Chris Johnson is a very underrated CB on top of that we have Nnamdi, the best CB in the league.
What we are missing is you, that's why it hurts not to see you in Alameda at the headquarters or at least a statement from you or your agent. This ... "he said, she said" stuff has to stop.
I believe Tom Cable knows more then he's saying to the media, as well.
Once again, if a contract is being worked out right now and Eugene Parker and Al Davis are working on it then fine.
But if you are upset and don't want to be apart of the turn around of the Oakland Raiders then that's another issue.
If you help turn our team around you will forever be the man in Oakland. Your legacy will be one of a player who came from the top, to the bottom, and back to the top again, after they said you were "too old" and not worth the money.
Us Raiders fans have been over due for success, little stuff like this we don't need, prove to the Raider Nation, New England, Yourself and the rest of the NFL you are a class act by doing whats right.
You have won Super Bowls, been to Pro Bowls, now this is a another twist and turn in life, deal with it and show some respect to our franchise, in doing so we will have nothing but love for you Richard and that's real talk.
We are going into a season with high hopes, with the trade of you last Sunday, Raider fans were juiced to hear your name on our team, but with each day, hour, minute that goes by it's only makes us more upset not to hear any updates and see more negative remarks to our franchise by ESPN, PFT, NFL NETWORK, ETC....
Shoot, you have made millions of dollars in your life and will make more money on top of that once you resign.
Money us fans or Bleacher Reporters will never see, all we want from you is a player who is willing to be a piece of the puzzle, we aren't asking you to be the saviour, we understand your history and your numbers in the NFL, and you will get paid by Al Davis.
People say Al Davis plan to return to the playoffs won't work, they're wrong. Al see's your talent and how you can help us a lot, we have tons of young talent on this team that will shock the NFL.
The least you could do is come out to Oakland, check in, meet your teammates, meet the coaching staff, and meet Al Davis.
I never in my life seen something like this before, I said once the trade happen to give you some time to come around after the shock, but I mean the season is about to start, let's hear something man, speak up. What it do Seymour, are you ready to wear the Black? What is it.
New England turned their back on you, and over here in Cali we really, really, really want you because we feel you can help us a lot.
I just hope you come to terms and see that things won't be so bad in Oakland, you will find a nice spot to live in the suburbs, the Bay area has great weather year round, I mean this is my home, it's the Bay Area fool, Northern California you will love it.
Change is good, and once you do come to the East Bay you will get nothing but that Bay love. The Black hole will welcome you.
Just keep it 100, be solid and real about it, the NFL is a business and now you are apart of Town Business, by putting on that Sliver and Black you are doing the right thing.
Don't fake on the Bay, if you real with us, then we will be real with you, but all this no show stuff has to stop.
Raiders fans have been defending you, saying that you will come around while the haters hate. Don't do us.
Speak on it and let us know whats really.
