Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
McDuffie, the 21st overall pick out of Washington in the 2022 NFL draft, has found plenty of success at a relatively young age. He had a strong start to his career, recording 44 tackles, seven passes defended, a forced fumble and a pair of tackles for loss in 11 games in 2022.
He followed his rookie campaign up with an outstanding 2023 season, logging 80 tackles, three sacks, a forced fumble and seven passes defended. The breakout season led to McDuffie earning First-team All-Pro honors.
In 2024, McDuffie accounted for 59 tackles, a forced fumble, two interceptions, 13 passes defended and six tackles for loss, earning him Second-team All-Pro honors.
Despite a strong season, he was snubbed from the Pro Bowl roster, which ended up being costly.
Had he earned Pro Bowl honors in 2024, he could have a larger fifth-year option. As Fox Sports' Jordan Schultz pointed out, his fifth-year option of about $12.7 million would have been $17.1 million with one Pro Bowl appearance and would have increased to more than $20 million if he had two Pro Bowl appearances.
Nonetheless, McDuffie continued to get better in 2024.
McDuffie now heads into his fourth NFL season having already played a significant role on a pair of deep playoff runs, and he'll look to show out even more this season with his free agency on the horizon.
